A new series kicks off as SCG Radio tackles a multi-part rebook of World Championship Wrestling in 1998! Kicking off by addressing and correcting the nightmarish Starrcade 97, we go in-depth on all things WCW and rework the main event scene from January through to the end of March, looking at new signing Bret Hart and how to get the most out of him at this critical juncture, as well as dealing with the inevitable split of the nWo - who goes where in the beginning and how we execute it while dealing with the inflated egos. We also discuss turning Scott Steiner, evaluating the remaining titles and deciding the top matches and angles for Souled Out, Superbrawl and Uncensored as the WWF rallies on the other channel. Talking all about the changing tides of the company as Triple H continues his takeover of television with some of the more shameless and self-serving booking ever seen, becoming the mastermind behind the Steve Austin hit, stinking up television and tanking the Survivor Series buyrate in the process. Elsewhere, Kurt Angle struggles as WWF Champ being treated like a midcarder, Vince McMahon returns to television, Commissioner Foley gets fired, the midcard starts to get rather stagnant, and oh yeah, The Rock is still The Rock is and absolutely bulletproof. SCG Radio returns to continue the brave journey through WCW 2000, this time tackling September and October - a period that sees Vince Russo's ego get completely out of control, making himself the central figure of the promotion, booking himself to become WCW World Champion, getting multiple concussions in the process, before finally being turfed out once and for all. In the meantime, we have the usual chaos, calamity and confusion you'd expect from Russo's WCW, as this absurdly terrible promotion continues its death march in spectacular fashion. Talking all about the major stories of the period, we analyse what might be the most wretched two month span of major league pro wrestling we can remember - Hogan leaves WCW amidst a horrendous worked shoot with Vince Russo, Booker T wins the WCW Title out of nowhere, Goldberg and Kevin Nash SHOOTING (supposedly), Viagra on a Pole, Judy Bagwell on a forklift, Vampiro's spooky nonsense in graveyards, Lance Storm tries to get over in his insanity, David Flair, Daffney and Miss Hancock participate in a truly awful storyline, an all-time terrible PPV, and we're not even halfway through the amount of absurdity discussed. The WWF is riding high as we return to the Monday Night War, as we break down all the build to and execution of two awesome pay-per-views in Fully Loaded and Summerslam 2000. Not only do we look at the execution going into it, but we look at the absolutely catastrophe that was the aftermath - terrible promos, shocking booking decision, and a roster and promotion is serious turmoil with some of the worst TV of the 90s. As we end 1994, we look back at where things have come since we started our journey in 1990, and it doesn't get much more definitive than this.
